F/S Rem 700, 308W, Robar SR-90 stock $950.00 shipped to the lower 48, from my FFL to yours. I can ship to Alaska or Hawaii, but we'll need to look further into costs and perhaps split them to some percentage. Rifle is presently on display at my FFL's store for sale.
Started out life as a factory Rem 700 PSS, circa 1997 timeframe. Over time, I had the action trued/gone through, added a Lilja 308 Stainless, 24”, 12 twist, fluted, MV taper barrel. Barrel and action are finish with Norrell's Molyresin Satin Black paint. Original Remington extractor replaced with a Sako style. Timney Model 510 standard trigger, adjustable. Holland stainless, ground recoil lug. Stock/Action and recoil lug are properly bedded in Devcon epoxy. Stock/Action aluminum pillar bedded. Tubb low mass striker and Tubb spring to shorten lock time. Aluminum bolt shroud. Winchester BDL bottom metal, purchased from McMillan. Bolt is straight fluted (it was done before spiral bolt fluting became commonplace). Back end of ejection port has been clipslotted, but I never ended up using it in that manner. About 1200 rounds on the Rifle/barrel with plenty of life remaining. Muzzle has been straight turned to .810” diameter (.970” in length) for a front sight band, could easily be threaded for a suppressor. Bolt handle has been upgraded with a McMillan teardrop style and is a vast improvement over the stock Rem handle. I had intended to use this as an Across the Course type of rifle, but physical limitations curtailed that.
Robar SR 90 stock was purchased directly from Robar, in the short period of time that they were willing to sell just stocks vs complete rifles, while Robar were still in business. Obviously, the SR 90 stocks are no longer available. Stock includes a 3 way adjustable buttplate (Tubb, IIRC) factory installed by Robar. Stock also has a vertically adjustable comb. Stock has a bipod rail installed in the forend. As I understood back then, McMillan were manufacturing the SR-90 stocks for Robar. I do know that you could not buy the stock from McMillan.
Rifle is in good, shootable condition as it sits today. It doesn't have the wow factor that most new(er) rifles have, but is priced accordingly. The Leupold MK IV scope has been sold. The scope/rings are not included. The rifle retains the original Leupold MK IV 2 piece bases that were originally installed on it and are included in the sale price.
This would be a good starter rifle for someone on a budget that is looking for a "shooter". Conversely, if someone wanted to buy it and cherry pick the parts, a person could make a nice "retro" rifle on a Robar SR 90 stock. The value of the sum of the individual parts is greater than the asking price of the complete rifle.
With tuned handloads, this rifle has shot a few 5 shot/100 yard groups in the .1's, more in the .2's. It's been pretty consistently in the .3's with the same handloads (recipe on target picture). Conservatively, I would think that with FGMM, it would probably shoot .5" or better, depending on the shooter. No ammo included.
