For sale is a period Redfield 3-9x40mm gloss black Accu Range scope with straight crosshair, stadia wires, and "tombstone" ranging indicator. Scope shows various small marks in the finish on the bell and ocular, but no ring marks, dents, or major scratches. The optics are bright, the power ring is tight and smooth, and the glass is still perfect. It has the original throw lever on the power ring as well.

Serial is F56534, it's marked "3x-9x Redfield 1" Tube" on the turret, and "Made in U.S.A. Patented Redfield Gunsight Co. Denver Colo." on the ocular.

This one is a great example of this vintage model, and would be great on your wood-stocked Remington.

SOLD
$350 $300 shipped and insured to the USA. Would trade towards RMR RM07 Type II. USPS MO or PP F&F OK.

That is a great price for the 1966 M40 build. I paid $600 for mine in pristine condition. The direction are in the 1969 sniping manual FMFM 1-3B. I will try to post a picture of the instructions unless some one beats me to it.

Yes it is. I've been pretty busy lately, no time to bump. Hopefully you can find the correct bases for your project!

I found them. I have found all the correct parts for the build except scope caps.
May be interested in your scope as.well. gotta save a little.more.

Funny....I could not find these scopes any where now they are everywhere it seems.
I bought my first two for $600 then the last one for $200. $300 is a good deal for you both. Just my two cents

Thanks Wes for posting the info. Yeah, these scopes are hit and miss for availability. I've run across a total of 3 in my career. Finding one that's not beat is the hard part. Wish I had had one back in the 90's when I was playing stock 7.62!!

I agree finding parts is tough. I had some issues with ordering my McMillan stock. Finally just accepted a MilSpec stock for Winchester BM. Boy is it tough to find either then process/BP to modify the metal or simply buy a drop in modified BM. If I knew the process I could do it my self. And offer that sorta help to my fellow vets wanting an A1.

I have one of the original A1 stocks from McMillan's offering to the 'Hide way back when, it's my favorite rifle for sure. Not a spec build exactly, but I did go with modified BM to fit (think the BM was Williams in my case). It's not a *major* mod from the look of it, but because you have to attach it to the action you need the whole rifle to tune the fit for reliability. At least that is my perception looking at it.

That's correct from all my reading. Each rifle must be fit as they are not all identicle. Here to searching. C&H offer it but eight weeks back logged.
