How many people die a day in the US?
Posted on March 5, 2018 by Miguel Barrientos
According to the United Nations World Population Prospects report, approximately 7,452 people die every day in the United States. In other words, a person dies in the US approximately every 12 seconds. You can see a live clock keeping track of how many people have died today at https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths/united-states. You can compare the number of deaths in the US to the number of deaths in other countries at https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths.

CDC estimates that 20,000 to 60,000 people die in the US every flu season. As flu season runs from Oct 1 to March 31 (6 mo) we can <naively> take those numbers and divide by ~180. So, figure 100-300 people per day dying from the flu.

Even with social distancing there was 17,000 new cases diagnosed and 270 deaths yesterday... that's on the slowed ramp up.

Only 260 out of every million in US have gotten it so far. Projections for what they are worth say 85% will get it.

Seems like at least 100 people a day are dying from coronavirus here already it sounds a lot worse then I though it was that is ~1.3% of deaths in the US.
It's not that 1.3% of deaths in the US are attibutable to CV-19. It is that ~1.3% of those confirmed to be infected with the virus succumb to it's effects. That number is ~4% globally.

And, what % of those infected will have mild/undiagnosed symptoms and recover without ever being diagnosed? Hint, its a big number...

Speculation is fun... and easy enough to spin in both directions. Just like the numbers. All depends on your point of view/agenda.

Like 1,828 of diagnosed are now considered recovered, while 1,295 did not recover and are now dead. 50% mortality rate ;)

Possibly a lot of deaths from flu and pneumonia could be reported as covid19 deaths to pump the numbers.

For a death to be associated to covid-19 in this country they have to test positive for it...

If they tested positive, but died from other complications. Sure, those are likely being counted.

Yeah, it's more likely that whatever numbers we see are less than actual. Across the board.

How many people that don't get tested but actually get it and either show no signs, get mildly sick, or die.

Doctors and the medical profession kill around 500,000 Americans every year do to their fuck ups. So no, I don't have the greatest confidence in these people in white lab coats. I trust their political and economic advice even less.
And of course, any and all "information" coming out of the un is above reproach............

    1. Coronovirus is extremely contagious.
    2. There is no immunity to it. If you pick up the virus, you have it. Period.
    3. There are no therapeutic drugs for it (to treat people who have it).
    4. There are no vaccines for it (to prevent people from getting it).
    5. It is TEN TIMES as lethal as the "flu."
    6. It is not a flu or the flu. It is a different virus.

The depraved indifference toward human life in this thread, combined with the utter and total stupidity, is a deadly combination.

Well, with billions of people walking the Earth small percentages become staggering numbers.
It's cold and heartless to look at the numbers and think "well, mother nature is just giving us a good kick in the dick". However, that's really what it is. It's going to happen again and again so long as the Earth exists and we're still on it.

We're all human, most of us still have a few feelings left, and it'll be staggering and heart breaking if you're losing a loved one. It sucks, but we all die. Not a single one of us can escape death.

In the end most of us will make it through, we'll have developed a few new drugs and immunities, and the world will keep spinning.
