So, I've spent quite a while lurking and reading and now have some questions with regard to optics. I have a few rifles that I am ready to outfit with optics. The rifles in question:

Remington 700 PSS (SA) in .308 - typically shoot 100-600m
Remington 700 PSS (SA, of course) in .223 - typically shoot 100-200m
Springfield M1A Loaded - typically shoot 100-200m
SIG 556 - typically shoot 100-200m
MSAR STG556 E4 - typically shoot 100-200m

I spent the last year purchasing several different optic packages and mounts. On the Remington's, I have both outfitted with EGW SA 0MOA rails. The M1A has a properly-installed Sadlak. I have several rings to choose from (Nightforce, Leupold, LaRue), but it will depend upon the optic I go with to account for the height needed for clearance. Now for optics, I wasn't sure what I'd like best, so I purchased the following:

Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 MLR w/ZS
Nightforce 2.5-10x24 MilDot w/ZS
Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2 Illum.
Vortex Viper PST FFP 6-24x50 (ordered last year - still waiting, of course)
Trijicon ACOG TA31F (replaced the TA51 w/a LaRue mount)
USO SN3 1.8-10x37 MilDot w/EREK + Illum (Green)

Yes, it's certainly an eclectic mix of optics. No, I didn't buy them all at once - it was over the course of a year. I figured that looking through them in a gun store is only so good before you need to get them on a rifle outside and see how they really work. Originally, I had the TA31F for the MSAR and/or SIG 556. Neither one seemed agreeable with the combination - I even put a MagPul PRS stock ont he SIG with the adjustable cheek rest. Meh. I relegated the TA31F to an AR15 instead. The MSAR wears the above-mentioned Leupold in a LaRue LT104 mount and the SIG 556 wears the Nightforce 2.5-10x24 in Nightforce rings. I was planning on putting the USO on the M1A, the Nightforce 5.5-22x50 on the Rem 700 (308) and the Vortex Viper PST on the Remington 700 (223). So here are my questions:

Would I benefit to "standardize" on a particular manufacturer with all these optics (eg, all Leupold)? Pros/Cons?

For the Remington 700 in 223 - my wife uses it and likes a lot of magnification. She most often shoots at 100-200 yards and likes between 10 and 12 power. Is there any drawback (other than size/weight) to using a FFP scope - or SFP scope for that matter - that's capable of more magnification than is typically used?

On the M1A - is the USO "wasted" on that rifle? In the sense that it can't be as accurate as some other optic-worthy rifle (a la AR10 or the Remington 700 in .223)?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: Some questions about putting optics on my rifles

The range you shoot at is too short to bother with any standardization. Just zero your <=200 yard guns at 200 and you are GTG.

When we talk standardization, it usually revolves around FFP and knobs turning the same direction.
