i have been kicking around the idea of doing a few SBR builds. they will be suppressed.
my understanding is that a piston AR is the way to go for this so i don't have to worry about tuning the gas port on a DI for barrel length and suppressor use. or am i wrong?
currently, i have a few full length RRA and a YHM 30cal. when we shoot suppressed, it pretty much sucks due to blow back and choking on gasses. y'all know what i mean.
i have looked at the sig 516, but i am unsure of the proprietary forend. i honestly do not prefer the cheese grater quad rail. from what the salesman said, it cannot be changed. i really didn't like the ruger too much. any other options that are not close to $2500?
i would like the hand guard to cover the muzzle and extend over the suppressor a bit. or is that possible with a 556 can? i have seen pics of the hand guard covering the suppressor. where these pistol cans that are able to tuck under a guard?
my dealer called yesterday and said he has a few sakers that he just received. are they worth the extra cost over the YHM and specwar? he wants $905, no mount.
