Ive been posting these little reviews in the groub buy thread, figured theyd be more useful here, so I just copied them over, and added some video.

Dealer got my groups 22L1's yesterday, no 30P's yet. He came out to my house to shoot today...WOW!

I have to say I am extremely impressed with these cans. We shot all Ruger Mark's today with AAC pilot and YHM SS Mite on the other guns. The TBAC's have zero first round pop, and they remain just amazingly quiet. With the 4.5" paclites on all our guns and everything staying subsonic you literally only hear the bolt slap and the bullet hit the target, this is no lie.

On top of the sound, they are unbelievably light, they weigh exactly the same as the all aluminum 1" shorter AAC Pilot, and are notably quieter than it. Its just awesome on my paclite gun with no sights or rails just the fastfire.

Only downfall to them, and its only a downfall to paclite owners, is the taper on the threaded end. They dont remain 1" the entire length, so you get a slight lip at the shoulder. It would be great for factory ruger upper owners I think.

Other thing we noticed is they get hot quick! And seem to stay hot long. I figured they would heat up about the same as an aluminum can, but not even close, the pilot was still touchable after 3 rapid mags, not the TBAC's. Its really not a problem unless you plan to swap the can over a lot while shooting in pretty rapid succession.

Thanks a lot Zak for the awesome deal, cant wait to get our 30P's!

Edit: Just got a text from dealer, 30P's are on their way now, awesome.

Dont laugh at my night killer, Im trying to find a deal on a TLR-1 to put on it instead. The stainless MKIII in the middle is VarmintSlayers gift for the awesome prairie dogging he hooked us up with, I think some people would get upset if they knew what kind of deal I got on that beauty

Re: Some Thunderbeast Initial Impressions

Got out with my dealer today to shoot the 30P-1's. Fit and finish is definitely beautiful on these guys, the weight is just awesome on them.

Sound wise, I wasnt dissapointed, but I wasnt blown away. I was not expecting any kind of miracle here. Ive always said my YHM 7.62 SS Phantom is one of the quietest 308 cans Ive ever heard, and Id say the 30P-1 sounds identical, same tone, no twang like the Sharks Ive heard. Where these cans shine is just in their weight compared to my YHM, exactly half the weight (16oz compared to 32oz). It is also 1/8" smaller diameter.

Havent shot them together at night yet with mine, but I have shot along side a 30P or 30P-1 in the past not sure which model, and as I remember the TBAC and my YHM were the only two to completely eliminate muzzle flash, when I say completely I mean 100% can not see a flash come from the muzzle.

Few pics here, have some videos to edit, will post those soon. The barrel is brand new today, wanted to shoot it before I coat it.

Re: Some Thunderbeast Initial Impressions

Ruger Mark II and III with 4.5" Paclite uppers, both firing Federal 525 Bulk Pack ammo. Left hand is TBAC 22L-1 right hand is YHM SS Mite.

A note about the Mite, that can has several thousand rounds through it with no cleaning. Dealer has a brand new one, fired side by side mine is very notably quieter. Still, notice how bad the FRP is on the Mite, the TBAC has not even a hint of FRP.

Re: Some Thunderbeast Initial Impressions

Clip 1 is YHM 7.62 Ti Phantom on the AI 23.5" bbl and TBAC 30P-1 on the Savage 18.5" bbl, both 308. AI is firing 155 scenars at 2915, Savage is firing 175 SMK at 2560. We are in a pretty poor location for noticing any difference in SPL's, too much sound reflecting off trees and other objects near us. This camera also doesnt do a really good job of reproducing the high pressure sounds.

Clip 2 same cans, AI is shooting 170 RN at 1000fps, Savage is firing 180 RN at 1050fps. This one is interesting, pretty sure the 18" bbl makes the subsonics slightly louder. Reasoning is when the 30P-1 was screwed on the AI it seemed quieter than when the YHM was on it, or at least equal.

Clip 3 is Smith and Wesson MP15-22 with a TBAC 22L-1, 5 rounds of CCI Blazer bulk high velocity then 5 rounds of Aguila SSS 60gn subsonics.

Sorry for the crappy video editing, just downloaded the program today and still trying to figure it out.
