This is probably common to some folks but for me it’s very unusual.

Since the election on a cross country trip I and two coworkers talked A-politcally about the election and potential results.
In a different vehicle with a crew of three different coworkers the conversation was different.

After arriving and regrouping at our destination, I was told about this guy who was a non-humble millionaire (i’m guessing family money) is an investor.

The next day he makes subtle comments (I wish I had stopped them there).

The third day the comments are anything but subtle.. i.e there’s no evidence if fraud... why doesn’t he just step aside... he should have never been elected.

How can someone who’s made money off our economy blame him for anything?

It sickens me that I have to bite my tongue and refeain from punching this guy in the face, if I did I would be the bad guy but he is getting away with saying anything he wants.

I’m going to file a complaint, I doubt it goes anywhere.

I wouldn't file a complaint, it's a good way 2 lose a job or cause significant problems with your job.

What you do is simply start being a very loud obnoxious voice of the truth. Then when somebody complains you file a complaint with the state bigger being harassed because of your political views and not allowed to have a voice equal to that love your Democrat supporting coworkers

Not trying to be a complete dick this late at night, but emotional reactions will complicate your situation. Just imagine the next time you talk about your love for the 2nd Amendment and this dude reminds you of how you shit on his 1st Amendment opinion?

The OP is for your feedback; i’m far from being in a hostile work environment because the sideays looks I see from the others I know this individual is outnumbered.

Though i’m still wrapping my head around it, this is something i’ve not experienced in 11 years of being in the military.

Remind him that the right is not unlimited and is subject to reasonable regulation. Tell him he needs to pay a fee designed to be prohibitive for even people of his means, ask permission, wait until "they" feel like giving permission or not (usually six months to a year but often longer), and must accept No if that is the answer. Even if the answer is Yes, failure to follow the arbitrary (and subject to change without notice) rules qualifies him for a ten year vacation at the resort Club Fed, as does exercise before said permission is granted.

Your colleague is a Communist. He might not acknowledge that to you or even himself. He probably considers himself a Democratic Socialist or some other trendy label. Watch your six. Do not trust him. For anything.

I lived and worked deep in the heart of a libtard area. Everyone I worked with was a libtard. They always make themselves known
I just played dumb like I didn't care or understand anything about politics and usually they would just shut up

I do the same with people that want to talk non-stop NFL, yawn, so football, that is where you try to throw the ball into the net?

Biden, he is the guy that owns hotels and had that crap reality tv show, right?

they learn to just shut up and not talk any politics around you because you are too stupid for them...

no good comes of talking politics at work

Keep your fat Republican / Patriot mouth shut.

Keep your eyes and ears open.
First time he does something that will get him canned blow him in.

He is baiting you, screw him.

    #blow a dem in

At my job, had my boss show up dressed as Hillary Clinton the day after the election. Another coworker of mine was "sick" the week she lost.

Management from the top down won't tell you how to vote, but will state its in your best interest that certain people win elections, because if they don't, then jobs could be cut (we get some funding from the government).

Just keep your powder dry. If you work with this guy long enough there will come a time when you can drop a bomb on his ass, hopefully in a staff meeting. Stay cordial till then.

If Biden does become president, I'd like to talk to this guy in a year or so. I doubt he will have the same opinion at that time.

Typically such people will never admit they made a poor choice. Most will rationalize any shortcomings as the fault of congress, the previous administration or the need to give everyone a free unicorn.

I would completely ignore any work politics conversation that doesn't align with my view, Just don't entertain such argument.

If in a talkative mood, I play along and pretend to be like-minded. It's amazing how many will agree with some of the most outrageous ideas you throw out. One fellow agreed the government should provide a vehicle and free fuel/maintenance to everyone 16 or older and traffic violations should not carry penalties.

This only works for democrats. He would be tagged as a racist for being republican and terminated

You kinda (ok, completely) sound like a guy who got a tattoo to win a suppressor.

Who gives a darn what anyone says?
You can either shut up and tune him out, counter the argument with quality talking points NOT laced with the emotion you are showing here, or go all Karen and probably cause yourself issues with your employer.

I have these talks with my 8 year old, never figured it would have to happen on a shooting forum.....

Many of “our side” are showing themselves exactly like all the Hillary voters did in 16.
I think the Dems cheated big time and hope it will be proven.
Freaking out does nothing. Stop being a pussy.
    Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome.

Usually the first indication I get that somebody is a Dem - is when they show up late for work 3 days in a row, and want to know if they have a sick day coming after working 3.5 days.
Lol. Yeah, I got one of those. He shows up late, and looking like winnie the pooh. Blue jeans and a polo shirt, too short due to his growing pot belly, wearing flip flops....smdh...the guy spends a lot of time trying game the system.

Every time you see him picture his head exploding in a pink mist, it helps.

We as a group do need to feel comfortable talking about our views in public and claiming the middle ground but I have to admit I will normally just walk away from it. I will let my support for Trump be know and that I support gun rights but don't talk about it much further than that.

It's just that some of the stuff coming from the left is so extreme you assume that no one is buying this stuff. But it appears that they are.

    Seems par for the course.

Myself and another conservative person who happens to have darker skin tones, are at work at 7:30am
The two younger set who are of course Democrats/Bernie Bros/Communist leaning, usually wander in to work some random time between 10:00am and 11:00am Since one of them is the owner's son, nothing much gets said.

It explains why our side can't be out all night "peacefully protesting", we have to get to work bright and early or nobody else will be doing it.

We start officially at 0500, but are usually at work by 0430.
Of course we have those hours because we work in the heat.
The Dems we’ve had never made it through their second week.
It’s more of a work ethic thing than it is a tolerance for getting up and to work on time or working in the heat. They just wanted everybody else to bend to their wishes instead of simply being part of the team and working together.

I've dealt with this exact issue directly. So long as you never admit Republican, so long as you only support the forward Direction of this country and the growth of humanity, then all works out great. You use leading statements and questions to guide them to support your narrative... really, it's quite simple. And to see the look on somebody's face when they have to admit that you are correct, and they have to follow your narrative ... It's priceless

Tact is the ability to tell someone that they are open minded when they have a hole in their head.

I prefer an even more subtle approach. I simply tell them they are either staggeringly stupid or they are a stinking f*in marxist. Make 'em pick which one. Almost every time they'll open their piehole and let you know.
