I've found 2 loads with the same powder that have similar group results. The question is, will I get better results overall (both near and far) with the faster, and theoretically flatter load, or will the difference be minimal and just wear out components faster. thanks.

Re: speed vs accuracy

Not a real answer to your question. But here's something to think about. The most accurate load is seldom the fastest load.

I have seperate loads for 0 to 300 yards. Then different powder and bullets for 300 to 1K.

Decide what you want to do with the round, whether it's punching paper, ringing steel or hunting. Then hunting groundhogs or hunting grizzely bear or moose. Very seldom (read that almost NEVER) can you get1 bullet or 1 load for everything.

I generally will use the lower power load if the accuracy is the same. It's easier on the rifle, my shoulder and the brass. Everything lasts longer.

Re: speed vs accuracy

thanks for the info. I never thought of trying different loads for different distances. I've just been zeroing at 100 yds, and then stretching it out to 600 (thats as long as my range goes) based on dope after I chrono the most accurate 100 yard loads. I do have loads for my Scenars for pure paper punching, and Amax's for everything else. Thanks again
