Good evening Shooters,

I am putting a feeler out, has anyone had any issues with Spuhr screws backing out after mounting and torqueing? I re-centered my scope recently and thought I felt one or two slightly loose. Maybe it was my imagination, just thought I would get some other user experience. Running a 6.5CM in a pretty heavy PRS style setup, so not a lot of recoil there to move it about. I appreciate any Input, stay safe out there.

Edit: Referring to the screws for the scope tube, not the mount to the pic rail at the mount base.

Never

What are you torquing them to? The spec is surprisingly high at 25 in-lbs. I do know some scope manufacturers say less, so definitely check all of your manuals before cranking down on them. I'll second or third the never had one back loose, though.

I saw your update to the op, I also have a zco, and have the fixit stix kit with either 15 or 25 as options I think I went 25. Trusting zco and spuhr.

You didn't say but assume you followed the pattern for tightening?

I did sir, just had the heebie-jeebies twisting off to max torque value on my scope, maybe that's just me. I figure after the round table here, I'll go up to 20 in-lbs and double check after a few range sessions.

I switched to a Spuhr ST-3701 at 432 rounds (45 in-lb base and 18 in-lb rings, no Loctite) with a Vortex AMG EBR-7.

At 742 rounds I switched to an Vortex AMG EBR-7B and have since shot an additional 352 rounds and nothing ever came loose.
