Sgt. Major Mark Spicer (British Army, ret.) co-founded Craft International, LLC and serves as its Executive Vice President and Chief Training Officer.

Sgt. Major Spicer is responsible for the development and implementation of all training programs offered. He is a 25 years veteran of the British army, serving with specialist units, and as a sniper and sniper Platoon Commander for over 20 years. Over the course of his military career, Sgt. Major Spicer served on deployments all over the world with both British and UN forces.

In 1995, he was made a senior instructor for the British Army Sniper Division, where he trained both British and foreign soldiers in the skill of sniping and wrote the British Army Sniper Doctrine (the British Army's sniper field manual). By invitation, he went on to qualify as a U.S. Marine Corps Advanced Sniper and Sniper Employment Officer, and periodically served as a guest instructor at the USMC Sniper School. He was also invited to attend the German Army Mountain Sniper course, which he successfully completed.

As a Company Sergeant Major, he established and commanded his unit's sniper platoon. While serving as a Battalion Weapons Training Warrant Officer (a senior training position for a 750-man Infantry unit), Sgt. Major Spicer served as an expert witness for the FBI in the high-profile Washington D.C. Sniper trial in 2002. His testimony helped lead to the successful conviction and subsequent execution of the Washington D.C. Sniper.

Since retiring from the military, Sgt. Major Spicer has trained a number of U.S. military and law enforcement units, as well as a Scandinavian sniper unit. He also served as an advisor to the Royal Office of King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, whereby he created, selected and trained the Royal Guard Counter-Sniper Unit.

He has authored three world-renowned books on sniping and is perhaps the world's foremost expert on the subject.

He also is big in several security companies since Chris Kyle's passing, they started Craft international together and used to be a big wig in McMillian's stock company testing, developing stock designs.

Currently trains counter terrorism classes around the world.

--Shout out and thanks to ColdfuzionTN for bringing this to my attention, to put it up here.

In these “Person Specific” threads, I am asking for a sharing of information regarding teachings, accomplishments, anecdotes, first-hand-experiences, and the like. Simply pertaining to the individual named in the title.

I intend for a separate thread for each separate person, and in no way is this to turn into anything other than respectful and pertinent statements and stories about the shooter. If you want to talk about someone not named in a thread, PM me and I’ll start another. At the same time, disparaging comments, wrong remarks and the like, WILL be removed.

This is intended to turn into a compendium of information of each marksman, because not everything is published, nor has everything been disclosed that has since been “unclassified”. Ya’ll know right from wrong, so let’s all make these threads GREAT.

If we are lucky, the possibility exists for “those who are still alive” to add in their two cents. THAT luxury is not afforded very often. Hence why I want this to be kept “on point”. Thank you.

I had the honor of attending a two day course with Mark Spicer. This is an amazing veteran with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He Is incredibly down to earth. He will have you laughing your head off one minute and then pushing you to the limit the next. His publications are fantastic. He is still very internationally connected and involved. If you ever get a chance to meet him jump on it.
