Do you think a larue spr 1.5 is strong enough to mount a premier 3-15 on a heavy barrel 260 Ar-10 for 600 plus work. I have several of the 30mm on 223s and one on a grendel and like the mount but is the mount rigid enough for long range work with a heavy scope?

It's strong enough ,but if you rather have overkill, get some Badger USMC SASR rings like the use on the mk11 and Barrett 50. Eye relief and height is perfect for the premier.

I'm a BIG fan of LaRue's products (own 5 mounts), but I mounted my PH on the AR using the same Seekins rings that hold it on my bolt gun.
Picked up a Badger one pc. riser rail to get proper height & eye relief and torqued 'em down, just the same...

I have a set of badger alloy 1.275s I bought for an Ar15 and never used. Would that be close to good height or should I go with a pair of seekins lows I have and go the riser rail route? How much height does the riser add? BTW thanks for the input.

Larue mounts rock, being able to handle the .260 on an AR platform, not an issue, but the purpose of QD is kinda lost on a precision rifle. Are you running back-up irons, probably not, are you swapping optics where you need QD, probably not, so going with traditional rings and a riser are your best bet. Its a precision rifle, treat it like one.

I went with a Knights Armament 1 piece mount. Solid design, 18 MOA built in, lightweight, also available in 34mm, and it will clear my iron sights. The MSRP is scary, but if you watch the classifieds on various forums, they can be had for the same price as a Larue.
