i got offered a screaming deal on a fluted bull barrel for my 5.56 SPR i'm building but its a 22". my Mk12 at work is 18 and most i see are 18" is 22" too long? or should i pass and just do what i was planning and get a 18" bartlein or noveske?

Pass on it, get the heavy barrel profile if an SPR is what you want.

A 22" bull barrel, fluted or not, will be noticeably heavier than an 18" heavy. Balance is key.

yeah thats what i was thinking too cuz its a heavy ass barrel... probably drive some tacks but the gun would definately be heavy

i used to have a 24in bushy varminter barrel on one upper, very heavy and it was fluted, i since went to a woa 18in spr barrel

now the gun actually get shot alot more, so much handier and better balancing of a gun
