Greetings all! I installed a Smith Enterprise scope mount onto my M1A, I can't seem to come close to aligning the mount with the barrel. When I snug everything down, the mount shifts to the left. I can't even begin to zero my scope. Do you all know any competent gun smiths in the DC/MD/VA area? I'm waiting on Fulton Armory to get back to me and even thinking about shipping it to SadLak in CT.

It can be a number of things like how the rear part interfaces with the stripper clip guide or how the side rail/screw hole lines up. My rifle had a basset machine picatinny low mount on it because none of the 3 point mounts ever worked properly.

No offense intended, I can't understand whose brand scope mount you are trying to install.
You say a MA9222 SAI model M1A, then a Smith Enterprise mount, then shipping it back to Fulton Armory and Sadlak.
