I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem. New Spuhr SP-5001 atop a Badger Ordnance base on a LEFT Handed R-700. The mount appears larger on the left side, which hinders the ejection process. Anyone else run into this?

Yes. I was having constant (~50%) ejection issues on my 6.5x47 built on a stiller tac30 with a gen 2 razor in a spuhr.

I made a slow-motion video of a bunch of cases attempting to eject, and found that basically every single case hit the underside of the spuhr. Half the time, the case would hit the mount and very barely eject into a pile basically below my action, and the other half would hit the mount and fall right back into the action.

Hadn't considered that it would have been a left hand only thing but it makes sense.

Got rid of the mount because of this, and replaced with a set of PMRs. Have had zero issues since.

Unless the Spuhr has cant built in, there’s no reason to orient it with the bubble level towards the rear. Plus the flat side of the mount being above the ejection port on a LH action just looks weird. I flip the orientation on mine, haven’t had an issue over a couple rifles.

I wonder if the Rem700 has a lower rail height than some other actions? Or is the port angled up more? I'll have to dig mine up to examine later.
I will be trying a 1.5" spuhr on a LH impact like this soon in order to try a red dot at 12:00, will report back here if any ejection issues, but I don't expect any.
You could also send your bolt or action to LRI for his double plunger ejector set-up for a more direct-out ejection?
Here's one of my favorite Hide photos ever, not mine, but the LH Sphur it didn't seem to hold this dude back:
