What does everyone think about Stainless steel actions?

Is the price worth it over cromoly?

Why do people choose one versus the other?

Less need to clean as soon, if you are building a shiney rifle you can polish it?

No real advantage if you paint it anyways.

When you say paint it- do you mean simple krylon? or something more fancy like duracoat? Will krylon be able to keep rust away simply by covering the metal?

I keep reading how Remington's finish on lower end models (sps) are horrible. Will paint solve this problem?

It all depends on what you want and how you clean your gear.....no "one" is better as far as the average user will know. Buddy at work has a A-bolt Stainless Stalker and has cleaned it once in the 5 years I have hunted with him. And that was because I had my shit already out. SS will not let you abuse the rifle for 10 years and just store perfectly forever. With proper prep for storage SS will last longer than CM but how much longer has too many variables.

It is simpley Stain(less than chromoly) Steel.
