**ONLY (1) TEAM MEMBER NEEDS TO REGISTER PER TEAM**
DESCRIPTION:
*This match will be a hike and shoot team match, where teams will engage targets in practical rifle stages along an out/back 3.7-mile natural terrain precision rifle course.
*Stages will be blind where teams hike (untimed) to a staging area, read a self-brief and then are called to the shooting area. Once in the shooting area the stage will begin and teams must be prepared to detect, range, and engage all targets. Many targets will be painted subdued colors to conceal them within natural terrain. Teams will be expected to come up with a strategy under tight time constraints with limited information given to them.
*This match will test the following: target detection, marksmanship skills, teamwork, gear management and communication.
*Both team members need to be prepared to engage targets out to 1000 yards.
*This match is not a physical fitness event, but will require teams to traverse hilly, unmanicured terrain with all their gear.
*The number of teams will be limited, as this event will incorporate longer stage times. (5-6 minutes)
*Trophies will be awarded to each team member for 1st-3rd place.
STRUCTURE & MATCH FLOW:
-Teams will be randomly assigned a course start time, with first stepping off at 8am. About every 10 minutes another team will start on the same trail following a team in front of them. You traverse the course as a team…there are no squads. When a team finishes a stage, they will then RO for the team behind them. Teams should expect to spend about 5 hours to complete the entire course. Once the course is completed, teams can hang out and wait for scores, go get something to eat and come back, or go home.
-About 80 rifle rounds will get you through the 6 stage match. Most stages will require a max of 12 rifle rounds to complete per shooter, but bring extra ammo as there could be unlimited stages.
-Teams will be hiking between shooting areas in variable, hilly terrain. The average distance between shooting areas is 250 yards.
-Most stages will be limited to 5 min stage time. Most stages will have a 3 min self-brief prep time, then a 5 min stage time. Stages also may be self-briefed while teams are on the clock.
- Bring whatever food and water you think you may need for the day. There are several nearby stores where food and water can be purchased.
-Teams need to be prepared to encounter rapidly changing weather conditions on the course, as well as hazards that can occur on a natural terrain course including but not limited to; stinging insects, venomous snakes and other wildlife. Teams would be wise to bring a first aid kit, and be prepared to address any medical emergencies along the course.
-There will be some physical challenges in this match other than hiking. Some stages may require crawling, lifting and or dragging objects. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most physically demanding, this match will be a 6.
**SHOW UP READY TO SHOOT. ZERO RANGE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE.
GEAR REQUIREMENTS:
*No pistols are needed for this match
*Both shooters may utilize any common short action caliber, in any combination of action types: .223 .308, 6.5 creed, 6 creed, 6mm variant…
*It is required that teams carry (2) tripods, and (2) sets of binoculars for shooting and spotting roles.
*Teams will need a stopwatch
*10x binoculars will be more than sufficient for calling hits while function as RO’s, as most targets past 500 yards will have hit indicators.
* Both shooters must carry all their gear needed for the course in a ruck.
*Bring any additional gear needed for practical shooting scenarios.
*Team must have at least (1) range finder that is capable of ranging targets at distance.
