I have been looking around for a new scope for a AR build that i will be using to hunt with. Came across this scope due to someone having a 3-12x56 for sale. So i dug into it a little deeper and got on their site and did some reading their about them. Like their features and what i read and they are priced at what i would be willing to spend. I have had and use some Conquest scopes and they are very nice for what i use them for. The prices of the new Steiner almost mirrors the conquest prices. Anyone here using 1 and what are your thoughts? How well is the glass and function of the scope? Are these imported in or are these particular models made here? Not that it matters as i am just curious. I don't know why but when i look at 1 of these they remind me of a Burris for some reason. Maybe because of the little knob thing on the near bottom edge as you see on some of the Burris scopes. Anyhow, i would like to hear from some people first hand as i like what i see but would like to hear some feed back on them. Also, i think the reticle is nice for what i am using it for.

Burris and Steiner are part of the beretta defense group. All of the warrenty work is done here in the US (Greeley CO) for the Steiner scopes if you ever needed it. Pretty sure all of the assembly for the Preaditor is also done here as well as anodizing the tube and other things. They had tubes that just got back from anodizing when Jay and I were out there.

Great instruments with awesome optical quality. Very easy scope to get behind with great field of view.

I prefer it over the Conquest 3-12. I like the S-1 plex (it is supported by ballistic charts provided) over the older german 4 (or 8 can't remember) that the conquest is sold in

Have anymore questions, give Jay or I a shout.

If the Steiner hunting line is anything like its tactical you can buy with confidence. The tactical line the glass is superb, robust build and tracks true. I'd be more than willing to bet the hunting line is just the same as its tactical brethren with .25 moa knobs and SFP. I highly doubt that Steiner would drop the ball on the hunting line and cheapen those scopes in any way. They are new back into the market, they can't afford to skimp and keep a good name. Owning a tactical scope of theirs, if I was looking for a hunting scope I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one.
