Can I use this action for a .308 build, if I swap the bolt to the propper size bolt face?

What action are you talking about? I'm assuming the Stevens 200 that you're looking at has a bolt face for a 223. But yes any Stevens 200 can be made to run a 308. PM me if you have any questions on your Stevens 200 build and I'll be happy to help and suggest things that have worked for me.

Sorry guy's, forgot to mention it is starting as a .223. I am working a deal w/ another member here and am just waiting for the rifle. So I can just get barrels, bolts, and just swap between caliber's? If I were to put a DBM set up I would just need mags for the different caliber's as well?

As long as its a centerfeed you can run cdi or sss dbm. If you have a staggerfeed it will only work with the sss dbm.

Supposed to be new with only 50+ rounds down the tube. Hopng to make a precision carbine type rifle to serve as a hunter and target duty. Looking to have something to take to some PR classes as well.

In addition to the proper bolt face you will also have to change the gas stop/bolt stop to get the .308 length bolt through.

Will probably just go with a new bolt assembly for. 308.

The CDI DBM bottom metal works just fine with a stagger-feed setup. I have it running on a 10-year-old 4.25" short action with absolutely no problems.

My plan is to build a. 223 then when I outgrow the caliber's range limitations, build up from there.

Stevens in 223 is a good shooter with a usable barrel twist as it comes in the box. It could use a better stock, but you might consider shooting it when you get your hands on it to give it a fair evaluation first.
