Steyr SSG 08 vs. AI AE MKlll

Guys,

I am wondering if any of you out there have experience with the Steyr SSG 08 and how you think it compares to the AI AE MKlll.
Is the Steyr comparable to the AI AE, better, not as good? I had a Steyr SSG 04 in .308 and it was a great, handy rifle. I expect the 08 to be a big improvement for the additional $, but would appreciate any feedback from owners of this system.

I have 2 SSG08's and love them. I have never owned an AI (except AICS for Rem 700).The Steyr's are as accurate as the AI.
But in every other way the AI beats the Steyr hands down.
More robust, more aftermarket parts, easier barrel/caliber changes etc..

Unless you are a Steyr fanboy (like me) get the AI.

I have an SSG69 PIV and love it. It's an accurate gun. I had the plastic magazine, and parts are very expensive for this thing.

Thanks for the info. I went with the AI, but there is something about that SSG08 that is calling my name!
