Hi,

Are there 34 mm scope rings for the Steyr SSG PII? I called Steyr USA. There are no Steyr factory 34 mm scope rings. They referred me to ARMS in Massachusetts. The ARMS person told me that their 34 mm scope rings cannot be mounted on the SSG. Is there any other place I can look? Thanks,

Re: steyr ssg 34 mm scope rings

Your only option is to have a picatinny rail mounted onto the receiver. I know that US Optics makes one for the SSG 69. Once that is mounted, you can use any rings you want.

Re: steyr ssg 34 mm scope rings

You have a few options

1. Have a picatinny rail mounted on Steyr SSG and use any 34mm rings
- For example from IEA
- http://www.finnaccuracy.com/galleria/pages/SSG69+Picatin.htm

2. Get from Ernst Apel
- roll on mounts for Steyr SSG + 34mm rings on them
- http://www.eaw.de/eaw/index.php

3. Best solution I've seen is fixed 20MOA MIL-MOUNT from MAK
- http://www.kilic-feintechnik.de/
- it has one piece base with 34mm rings. As sturdy as it gets.

I went with the USO base, had George at GA precision install it and then with 34mm badgers.

Also with it's there had the bbl cut back to 18.5" and threaded for the FTE brake. (rifle is a P2) He also bedded it to the MCM stock from the previous owner.

Gun shoots crazy tight groups. Almost better than my british bolt gun.

Hi, MSA,

Thanks for the tip on the MAK mount. Is that your SSG in the picture? That looks really nice. Is there a US distributor for the MAK mount? Thanks,

I would love to see some pictures of this

Re: steyr ssg 34 mm scope rings

Could you upload photos of this setup... My SSG is in the mail and I'm going to run Badger Ordnance rings on a Steyr Picatinny rail. Might like to have the rail bolted to the receiver instead. Thanks in advance!
