No, you will not need to clean primer pockets if you deprime your brass prior to tumbling in the SS Media. Also, you should only have to uniform the primer pockets once. Some guys use a primer pocket uniformer as a primer pocket cleaner.
It is not a absolute necessity to clean the primer pockets after every firing either. I have clean pockets only because I deprime all my brass prior to tumbling! Its a benefit to the SS media system.

I will readily admit that I probably need to attend "clean cult" anonymous meetings! I usually have my brass cleaned spotless within days of getting back from the amtch I shot it in. Got the tumbler with stainless and the ultrasonic both going right now as I type. 6xc in one, 6.5CM in the other

SS media will clean your primer pockets, your bathroom toilet and your ring-around-the-collar.

Can you use SS media in a vibratory cleaner?? Or does it have to be used in the rotary tumbler type?

Cause I have both. If I do just a few cases, the ultrasonic can be faster, but its hard to them nice and shiney out of the ultrasonic like I can in the SS. And the ultrasonic is easier, just drop the cases in the beaker, fill with solution and stick in machine and turn knob to 20 mins and let it go, then rinse and dry. Done. SS is just a bit more work with teh sorting from media, etc. but, results are definitely better from SS tumbling.
