Stiller Predator Action

Re: Stiller Predator Action

You could probably buy the action new and rebarrel it to 308 for less than that, if you wanted to stay .243, it's a decent deal.

Re: Stiller Predator Action

Is that for a whole rifle with a stiller predator action, or simply a barreled action? It is hard to tell from your description if it is a good deal or not.

Barreled action only - not a good deal if you want to rebarrel it. You will only be able to MAYBE recoup $200 from the pulled barrel, so that leaves you with $1300 into an action that brand new is closer to $900.

If it is a full rifle, then it depends on the other componenets (stock and trigger) in determining the value.

Re: Stiller Predator Action

I know of which ad you speak. Figure $900 for the action and $300 for the barrel, if bought new seperately. The trigger, $40. Bottom metal another $60-70 if factory Remington. IIRC, those stocks are hand-made fiberglass/carbon fiber and sell, alone, for around $600. Basically, you couldn't buy the components seperately for the price they are asking.

However, if you want to rebarrel, figure it will cost another $600 to include the smithing and barrel blank.
