Stiller TAC 30 action question...

I finaly got around to having my Stiller TAC30 buid completed and I noticed that the bolt is stiff to close on an empty chamber. Upon inspecting the bolt, I noticed several places where the bolt shows contact and has obvious signs of wear. I haven't fired a round out of it yet. Is this normal for this action? I'm thinking either the tolerances are either too loose on the bolt or the action is too tight. Has anyone else encountered this? Here's some pictures to help give you a better idea as to what I'm seeing.

Re: Stiller TAC 30 action question...

I had the same concerns with my TAC30 build after I had the barreled action Cerakoted. Even before it was Cerakoted there were areas where you could see metal to metal contact, and it was rubbing off the black finish it came with. I manually worked the action a couple of hundred times after lubing it up pretty good, and it is now much smoother.

I dont have a Stiller action but when I had mine cerakoted mine was the same way. Its fine now since it has smoothed out a little.

Thanks for the replies, however, I've never finished the action in cerekote as some of you have. The bolt finish is the same armalon (sp?) coating that Stiller put on all his bolts at one point. Not sure if he does now at this point or not.

Re: Stiller TAC 30 action question...

Its not the armolloy rubbing off, its the metal and grease its touching making it black. It is normal. There is always a rub spot or two on any action. It will get shiny also. It can still be shiny and not be wore through. The newer coating is black. The black definately rubs off as it is dye on the surface only. The meatal is still hard and wont wear through.
