I am in the early steps of getting parts for a 300 win. mag build. Here is what I am planning: Remington 700 action, Mccmillan stock, and Rock Creek barell. I am getting the action and the barell and sending them to my gun builder. This is my first custom, so I am a little worried about what stock to get. I have a Nightforce 5.5-22x50 NXS to go on top. I want to make sure I get a high enough comb so I don't have to raise my head off the stock to look through the scope. I would like to stay away from an adjustable stock, because I don't care for the look of it. This is going to be hunting rifle, but I would like to get into long range shooting as well. I was looking at the Mccmillan A3 sporter as an option, but wasn't sure about how this would perform as a hunting stock. Any advice would be helpful. Also, if anyone has a magnum action or Remington 300 or 7 magnum rifle that they are willing to sell; I would be interested. Thanks.
