I'm looking for something to replace the accustock and so far am interested in the McMillan A3 Sporter, McMillan Savage Hunter OR Manners MCS-T.

Looks like the Manners stock comes in a light weight version which interests me.

I don't see any weights listed for the McMillans.

I'm looking for something that will give me a bit of a higher cheek weld and maybe a bit heavier than the accustock to make it easier to hold in the kneeling and standing positions.

I shoot bench and hunt out to 300 yards.

Thanks to anyone who has one and can give some feedback since I don't know anywhere I can see these before I buy.

I am using a Choate Tactical stock which is great. Be careful to measure your action screws as savage has used two diffrent screw spacings.

I guess a big part of my question is which ones even fit my rifle. Looks like they can make anything fit but I'm 100% new to a non-factory stock so I'm just dumb about this.

The stockade rollover thumbhole looks nice as do some of his others but I'm struggling with not being able to see them first.......

Thanks guys

The bottom bolt release that Savage switched to forces you into a choice. You can buy a stock that's made for your rifle like an XLR or Choate or you can use any stock made for a Savage centerfeed with 4.40" spacing which opens up your options but the bolt release won't be functional unless you remove the barreled action from the stock. I run an XLR on mine and the bolt release functions fine.

The benefit of the Stockade is that its a custom built stock, so you can have it made how you want and specifically for your rifle. give Kevin Rayhill a call, he'll answer whatever questions you have about his stocks.
