Picked up an older (flat back pre-accutrigger) savage 7mm Rem Mag for $150 last year, changed out the bolt face and put a 1:9 Shilen 280AI barrel on it. Not knowing how well it would shoot and not having a lot of money to blow I put it in a Boyd's thumbhole laminate. Well it shoots and now I'm ready for a real stock and a decent trigger.
Questions----
I'm running CDI bottom metal on my Tikka T3 in a manners stock and want to run detachable mags with this savage. Is a savage long action DBM the same whether center fed or stagger fed?
If they (center feed and stagger feed) cn both run AI mags does anyone make a chassis for savage long action that will accept AI magazines?
Really eyeballing PDC Customs but it appears that all of there detachable magazine chassis are for short action.
