I have a question on stocks, I have a HTG on my Remington 700 varmint with the heavy barrel. Would the HTG stock fit in a stock LTR? It is already bedded, I just thought the barrel channel might be to big?

yes it will fit if the action in it now is a 700 SA the barrel channel being to big is cosmetic only

I you don't like the barrel channel gap, you can line the barrel channel with Foamies brand neoprene foam, available at the craft stores. Lots of colors, with and without peel-n-stick, 2mm, 3mm, and 5(6?)mm thicknesses. Also makes pretty neat cheekpads, etc.

I was just wondering because I might sell my HTG to my dad who will most likely get a LTR, so I can get McMillan A5 or something.

Barrel channel is fine, I've done the same swap a while back. The LTR still has the same contour barrel, but with big flutes added. The gap should be damn near the same.
