Gunsmithing Stocky's

Re: Stocky's

Built a 6.5 x 47 Lapua this summer for my father-in-law on one of those stocks, I think there nice for the money. Inletted it for a Surgeon 591R, & Surgeon bottom metal.

After applying cerakote to the barreled action I installed it in the stock and torqued it down and removed it after to see if the aluminum would leave marks on the cerakote. There were two parallel lines running the length of the action. So I never bedded it, I included pictures of the first three groups it shot.

I plan on using the same stock for a truck/coyote gun on a rem 700 but in 243 AI this winter.

Hope I helped a little and If you have more questions let me know.
