Stone Glacier De Havilland Jacket (Old Model)

Just wondering if anyone uses the De Havilland Softshell Jacket?

I'm based in the Rep of Ireland, I have Kuiu pants, fleece, rain gear and FL merino baselayers.

Weather here is pretty unpredictable and Im thinking of adding a softshell to my layering system. I dont like minding my gear when I'm wearing it when hunting and bashing through forestry with a rainshell outer layer risks damaging it.

Hunting here is mostly day hunts, so Im not too concerned with the jackets performance with a pack on.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I havent used that one.

In cooler weather I have and do use the KUIU guide DCS jacket.

Years of rock climbing, skiing, and mountaineering, and a combo of all gave me a list of things to want from a soft shell.
The kuiu guide is darn good.
Pretty warm, frequently just a base layer and it until below 20F.
Great in breeze and light precip.
I have 5 years hunting a lot in this coat and am happy with it.

Also use the Forloh softshell.
Very good too, little more flexible temp wise. Maybe a little better in precip.
US made of US materials which is a bonus for me.

Both are tough.
Cost dictates a lot and I get that.

Im based in Ireland so Forloh isn't an option for me, they don't ship here!!

I had looked at the Kuiu Guide DCS, reviews online forums and youtube.

The SG DH Jacket was working out a bit cheaper because its the older model and on sale. I suppose I could wait for the next Kuiu sale.

Folks I know who use SG gear like it.

I just havent used that jacket.

Most soft shells are pretty decent and SG clothes seem like they are well thought for what they are intended for.

I dont know what the old one look like and the new one looks good.
I would probably give it a go to save some money!

I have one, it's a great jacket I typically wear in the fall/spring.
Good for light rain and light winds. Overall light and thin and great for movement.

Biggest issue I have ran into with it is it recently, it has started unzipping its self from the bottom up and is really annoying.
I might reach out to SG and see if the can repair it.
