Straight Jacket Armory - AI Prefit

Back in June I ordered up a barrel from Straight Jacket Armory - @StraightShooter77 as I needed a new 6.5 Creedmoor barrel for my new AI AT. I wanted something that could push the 6.5mm pills a bit further so ordered up a 26" Heavy Palma, I recently received it but have yet been able to get it out to see what I can do because of other responsibilities, but I will soon and report back on how well this shoots. I will say this, communication during the wait was outstanding as I received several phone calls from the team letting me know what stage it was in and before final chamber and polish Nick called me up and asked about the freebore. I told him that my desire was mostly to shoot factory Hornady and Berger 140's out of it and he recommended a .170 freebore, I also have some Hornady 147's and were not sure how well those will do but I'll give them a try anyway and report back. Upon receiving the barrel it was excellently packaged in a thick tube with lots of bubble wrap and once I finally got the barrel out I saw it had the best polished chamber I've ever seen. So here's hoping that it shoots as well as it looks!

I have a 22" proof 6mm creedmoor they did for my TL3 and it shoots outstanding! Their prices are very hard to beat also

Well I’m not sure what magic sauce Nick has brewed up in Wyoming but this is what I shot yesterday with factory ammo!

Was hoping for a bit better with the Hornady Match 140 but barrel isn’t even broken in. I might have pulled that Berger (I am notorious for one round fliers in my 5 shot groups). But Nick wasn’t sure if the .170 freebore would work with the Hornady 147 ELD-M and guess what, best 5 shot group I’ve ever shot - 1/4 moa with factory ammo?!?!! Lovin’ my AI and SJA barrel!
