    The land of many waters
    Anyone know what this means?
It is stamped on the crane, and the number does not in any way match the serial. It is an S overstamped with an A19 and a number.

I believe those are inspection stamps and numbers used for tracking the building process of the individual gun. The S denotes the fact that it's one of their stainless models. You can probably find more info by doing a search at the Smith&Wesson Forums.

Same thing I've heard. Numbers for internal mfg tracking purposes and meaningless to the customer.
