Stripped upper without feedramps????

Ordered a bcm M4 upper that does not have feedramps but says to use an M4 barrel extension? After ordering got to thinking if it was really necessary or a “must” to have feedramps on the receiver? This is the one I got

I believe you're mistaken about it not having feedramp cuts.

It does have to have some type of cuts for feedramps, otherwise the receiver would obstruct part of the ramps in the extension.

The above statement is completely false!! there are there several companies that do not have feed ramps in their receivers.

Now the barrel extension will always have feed ramps but not necessarily the receiver, so yes please confirm before you buy any receiver.

I have got the BCM upper but from what I have read from the description it does NOT have feed ramps on the receiver but does state to use an M4 barrel extension which is no problem, just wondering what and if it is a big deal using a receiver that does not have the feedramps cut out of it?

I typed "why m4 feed ramps" into google and found a pretty good writup on m4carbine.net.

A dremel and a bit such as a 1/8 diameter as used for sharpening a chainsaw blades will give you whatever feedramp cut that you desire.

OP it states in the Title "M4 Upper that usually means it has M4 Ramps.. In any case just call them and clarify.
