Tony Sawicz was in the area when he noticed smoke billowing out the roof of the restaurant.

He told Global News he dialed 911 just after 5 p.m. when he saw the flames, and in almost minutes he saw crews arrive on scene.

Fire crews were forced to fight the flames from outside of the restaurant, as crews deemed it dangerous due to high heat and heavy smoke.

Sawicz said many people were oblivious to the situation, as vehicles continued to lineup in the drive-thru.

Wow. That's at the North End of our city here. We're "South Central"... heck of a thing. And as for "good burgers"... anyone who's anyone knows NOT to go to 'chain' places. There's plenty of good burger joints around, who do them right.

Corner of Main and Broadway, for example. VJ's Drive-In. One of the best places to go to, in The 'Peg.
