Stupid Barrel Question

Sorry for the stupid question. I am trying to get parts for a 6.5CM build. Bug holes has a 27" 8 twist rem varmint barrel in stock. It is a little longer than I want. Thinking of going 24" - 26" range for the build. Can I have the smith cut the barrel to the length I want without any issues when he puts the gun together?

Only time it's an issue is if it's pre fluted for a specific length

All barrels I've seen get cut the manufacturer marks them on the muzzle with a sharpie indicating how much to cut. Lapping doesn't reach the end and usually an inch or inch and a half comes off or however much you want beyond that.
