Guys I just got my 1st full length Redding bushing die for my 308.

I set it up and when only bumping the shoulder 3 thousandths only about 1/2 of the neck is being worked by the bushing.

Is this the way the die is supposed to work or have I screwed something up.

Thanks for help with my dumb question and Merry Christmas.

When I said dumb question I really meant it.

I just screwed the decaping pin down as far as it would go and then backed off 1/2 turn so I could hear the bushing rattle.

When I ran the brass back through 95% of the neck was sized.

I am running the die without the expander in it.

I was using Redding bushing dies but in the last year have gone back to FLS dies. I have not seen any lose of accuracy and concentricity has been very good. I load 6cm,6.5cm, .243, 308, 300wm and 338lm and don't think i will go back to bushing dies. I only use Redding tried some others but never were a consistent as Redding.
    Good luck
