Will a set of rings for a Picatinny rail work on a Weaver style sight base?

Would like to put a better scope on Brenda’s Remington 541S for PRS/NRL22 style practice stages. The scope, though not selected would be at least a 34mm scope and her current scope is a Leupold Rifleman with standard one inch rings.
