STW 168 BERGERS

I can not make them shoot, cold bore first shot 1 inch off,1minute shoot again,another minute shoot again,these two touch each other,same results 78 78.5 79 79.5 with reloader 25,first shot always off next 2 always touch reloader 22 could not get a group. Anybody else have the same problem? You can't anywhere close to the lands with the bullet.

What rifle are you running?
My stw likes h-1000. But I haven't tried the bergers yet.

Getting close to the lands is important with VLD type bullets. These things are very jump sensitive. If you can't load them that far out I would suggest finding another bullet. Berger VLDs are really designed for the handloader that is running a custom chamber designed for type bullets.

I use Retumbo in my 7 STW. Shoot the 168gr Bergers 2 thou off the lands. Cold bore and follow up shoots group in the same place. Give it a try.

dont have a 7mm stw, when i tried them before going to the 210vlds, my 300 win mag 1-10 twist didnt like them anywhere near the lands, when loaded to mag length, they shoot great, and when i try them near the lands, the accuracy, ES and speeds go to shit and i start seeing flattened primers, i tried them from in the lands back to mag length,and thats where they liked it
