Does anyone have a successful home grown subsonic load for an M1A?

9.5-11 grains of Trailboss
180 round nose
215 mag primers

i know, i hand crank it.

the 180 grain bullet, are you using the jacketed or hard cast?

do you have an average velocity with this load, whatever barrel length you use?

out of my 24" barrel i was using 10.2 grn of trailboss wiht a speer 180 grn round nose flat based bullet, jacketed. First 2 shots usually in the low to mid 900's, all subsequent shots were 975-1020.

I was using Remington brass with BR2 primers

Also i guess the ogive is a little farther forward on those as i had to seat them around 2.76 rather than 2.82. It was a match chambered .308

I use jacketed lead nose pills, 10.3grns of TB is subsonic and very quiet out of my 24 inch Rock/ Shark Suppressor, no chronie data. I gotta ask why would a guy in PRC need a SS load?

Please try searching first... these are just the threads that I replied to on this exact subject in the past month.

There's a thread in the Reloading depot specifically dedicated to SS loads in all calibers.
