I have a Springfield TRP 1911 in stainless that I want to put some new sights on.
The current Novaks seem to have lost their charge and no longer glow. It has
only had about 200-250 rounds down it and has spent a lot of time as
a safe queen - but that is all changing since it is a sweet shooting pistol.
I am looking for some suggestions on improved sights. Wondering
what some Hide members would suggest. (I could just replace these
with some Novaks and move along.....)

Here is what is on there now:

Heinie Ledge or 10-8 sights. I prefer the square rear notch of Heinie sights. I know others like the rounded rear notch of 10-8. Both of them are quite robust, have night sight options. If you wanted to go indestructible "bad-ass" route, always have Jardine rear sight put on. I think you'd need a sledge hammer to move that sight unintentionally!

I have Heinie & 10-8 on 1911 and Glock. I just prefer the Heinie.

I wouldn't keep the Novak, either, but not because of anything other than the fact that the Heinie Ledge (and other) sights present a perpendicular surface that you can use to catch on for racking the slide if you're injured or otherwise temporarily one-handed. If you convince yourself to keep the Novak sights, and you can bear to be without the TRP for a week or two, you can always just have them relumed by sending the slide off: SPRINGFIELD It's spendy, but convenient.
