What's up everybody?
I just rebarreled my ar with a Daniel Defense 18" barrel with 1/7 rh twist . I'm used to 1/9 and have awsome loads for 60 sierra match kings. Anyone have any suggestions on what powder/primer combo to use with 77 Berger tactical bullets? This will be my first go at this bullet weight with an 18" barrel.
Thanks in advance guys!

These are all LC or mil equivalent brass loads, and they will all work.

24.8 or 2520
24.1 of rl-15
22.5 of wc844/h335
23.0 of wc846
24.5 of Varget

Those are loads I run, and they were all worked up to, and are run in normal mil-spec or commercial barrels, and any will run at 600 with a 77.

I basically run any primer laying around, but most wolf SRM anymore

Add 23.8gr 8208XBR to that list.

Velocity equal to BHA Mk262 seconds from my 18" 1:8 BHW rifle gas barrel.

23.4 Varget
24.0 Tac

I use 75 amax's, bergers 77 and 80.5. Powder charge is pretty much same for 75 and 77.

Both shoot well out to 600. I go to these loads for anything past 250. From 600 to 750 the 80.5 are king.

Mk12 Mil return upper
18" Douglas/Cle 1-7"

Plus 1 on AA 2520 I use 24 GR w/ 77 SMK, most accurate out to 300 yards w/ my 18" SPR.

18" BCM SS Barrel 1-8 twist Rifle Gas
77 gr Nosler CC
21.6 gr H-322
Speer case
CCI-450 primer

16" Larue OBR with .223 Wylde 1-8
77gr Sierra MK
LC brass
24.0gr 8208XBR
CCI BR-4

2741fps average. This is within 22fps of what real MK262 gives out of this rifle.

Question for M_16_for real. You stated you shoot the 75 Amax's. What length do you load them to? As I understand it they are supposed to be too long to load to mag lenth without getting major pressure spikes and for that reason I have totally avoided them in my AR's. Can you share your experience?

To add to the thread my current loads for my 20" Seekins.

LC brass
AR Match primers
XBR8028 23.5g

TAC 24.4g

Power Pro 2000MR 26.5g

24.7 of RL15 is LC cases and Hornady 75s were hammers in my National Match AR. Work up to it though, it was safe in that rifle but no idea what it will do in others.
