Could some one explain to me what the difference is between a SS10x42 & a SS 10x42HD . They look just alike from one another except the SS 10x42HD is $400.00 dollars higher.

They are actually completely different scopes, despite thier apparent similarities.
Everything is better on the HD version, but the HD identifier is namely attributed to the better glass.
The turrets on the HD are better, the glass provides better light transmission, better resolution, and better clarity.

The standard is Mill-dot with MOA turrets, the HD has the MRAD turrets to match the reticle. Maybe better glass also.
