I know that BATFE would like people to notify them whenever someone with a suppressor moves. I would like to know if notifying BATFE of a suppressors location is REQUIRED, or preferred. I'm referring to suppressors that are legally registered.
I don't have the answer to your question, but I did notify them and it took, if memory serves, the better part of a year before they replied, acknowledging the change of address. So, I guess they pay enough attention to respond - not that common these days it seems.
I moved within my own town/state, and was told by ATF that I needed to change the address on my Class 3 items. Also had to have some work done on one of my subguns, and the gunsmith nearly balked because my Form 4 reflected my old address. IMO, in the long run, esp with Class 3, better safe than sorry...
Ive never notified them of a in-state move. I sold an NFA item recently showing my old address and it went thru with no problems, called my examiner and was told dont bother YMMV
