I have searched some of the more well known companies that are talked about on here. Any chance that I can just use a .308 suppressor or are my bullets leaving the barrel faster than the suppressor is intended for.
It comes down to pressure, not speed. You can run a 308 muffler on your 7 mag if the barrel is long enough. AAC says knock yourself out as long as the barrel is 26" or over.
Cans are rated for 20" barrels where the pressure is much greater.
If it's rated for 300WM, then it should take 7RM without a problem. I know on some of the 308 rated cans, if you have a 24 or 26" barrel you can use it since the pressure is lower when it leave out at that length of barrel.
Check with the mfg of your .308/7.62 suppressor and ask if it is rated for magnum calibers, including but not limited to the 7mm Mag. I think you'd be fine running any .30cal can rated for 300WM with a 7mm Mag, but I wouldn't take any chances in shooting it through a .308Win rated can.
Im gonna run a 7mmRM with a 26" barrel. I thought I looked at sas and I couldnt find anything with info regarding the 300 or 7mm. I will look at it again.
The SAS arbitor is wm rated. It sounds EXCELLENT and only weighs 16oz. You can get it with their muzzle brake attachment which I recommend. The brake acts as an additional blast baffle to increase the life of the can substantially.
My PSS in 7mm Rem mag is seriously quiet with my AWC Thundertrap for .308. I asked AWC and they said it was good with any .30 cal., up to and including my .300RUM. They were dead on and it sounds great on all of them. However, it lives primarily on my 7 mag. now and I have no complaints whatsoever.
