F T/R Competition Supressors in competition

Re: Supressors in competition

but most local matches won't stop you from using one if you just want to shoot without having your scores reported

Re: Supressors in competition

I dont believe they are, I looked for specifics and was only able to find that muzzel brakes are not allowed so I am assuming that they are not.

Here is a link to the NRA F-Class and Fullbore Rules: LINK F-Class starts on page 42 I think.

I also found alot of forums with people stating that because suppresors are not leagal in all states. That is why they are not allowed in F-Class.

Hope that helps, I'm sure someone that knows more will chim in.

Re: Supressors in competition

I dont have the rulebook close, but suppressors are specifically banned from NRA matches.

I think that bullshit change happened 2-3 years ago.

Re: Supressors in competition

camocorvette,

FYI, your link is to a rule book four years old (for Fullbore, not High Power Rifle - a subtle difference). Better to link directly to the NRA Rules page and let people pick the one they need so they get the current version(s).

Specifically 3.16.1(a) in the NRA High Power Rifle rules is the applicable passage I think you're looking for. Interestingly... the same line does not appear to exist in the NRA Int'l Fullbore rules for some reason.
