Suppressors Surefire brake to a Thunderbeast 30Ba brake?

My rifle came with the old style Surefire 762 brake are there any issues replacing the brake with the Thunderbeast 30Ba brake? Other than a slight gap due to the Surefire needing the barrel turned down a bit will it affect the can when I finally get approved, and get to go quiet.

Do I need to have the barrel re-threaded?

You should be good. 30BA brake is a little goofy looking, but works like a champ, and serves as a baffle protector with can on. The way it screws on is impressive.
