Hey all,

I need to add a flashlight to my 870. I have the 870 18" with tube extension. It's this one, just all black.

I want to add a Surefire forearm light:

Not sure which specific model, tho probably the 3-button 618LMG 200 lumen model.

Questions are, will it fit with the sling stud hanging down on that part that goes on the barrel and tube?

And also, how do you mount a sling? Using the above mentioned part, the sling would hang right in front of the lens.

If you got pictures of your setup with one of these Surefire forearms, I'd love to see how slings mount and what modifications I may have to do.

I have to have a sling on it so just leaving one off is not an option.

Ok but that doesn't give me any answers. How is it attached? Do you have to grind off the front stock Remington sling mount?

Also, my current sling has two Remington attachments for Remmy rifles. I might have to change one but I am not sure how it'll be mounted.

Here's my current config, which is just fantastic:

But this pic shows how it came from Wislon. At the front you can see Wilson's sling mount/plus 1 mag tube extension - the Wilson plus 2 sling mount/extension would be perfect for your 18 incher. (Mine's a 14) At the buttstock, you can see the hole in the side of the stock just in front of the recoil pad, which is where Wilson mounted the other end of the sling. Worked fine that way, but I like the single point better. If you like the two-point, just talk to Wilson and they can set you up with everything you need to do it. If you are interested in the single point route, Mesa makes the QD sling mount/trigger pin that I use, and my sling is a Gear Sector. Love it. Other options include a sling mount that sandwiches between the stock and receiver, but as far as the front mount, the Wilson setup is hard to beat.

Here's the Wilson Plus 2 extension and sling mount unit:

On the Surefire, just make sure you get an LED version, and Kevin at Brightflashlights.com is my source for all things Surefire. Call him.

I wanted to stay away from a 1-point sling mount and stick with a more traditional type setup.

Do think there is enough plastic right behind where you would put your hand for me just to drill and install a sling stud in the back of the surefire grip?

If I could just take the Remmy front sling mount and put it on the Surefire somewhere, that would make my day.
