Does anyone know what the gap between the rear of the break and shoulder of the barrel has to be?

That QD Mount should come with instructions that address the gap. They may also be online.

I don't have one in front of me at the moment, but I just e-mailed the machining diagram (barrel matrix) to you for the different brakes offered by Surefire. You can probably figure it out by looking at the diagram....
