On the 591 S/A......do you need to put a bushing in the fire
pin hole, when useing it for a 6.5X47L build?

Thanks

Re: Surgeon 591 bolt question.

You can get away without bushing one, but I would recommend going ahead and bushing it. You'll be able to run a little higher pressures and won't have to worry about ever piercing a primer.

Re: Surgeon 591 bolt question.

I don't know if you "have to", but it's reccomended. I've bushed all the bolts on my 6.5x47 builds. This includes a Surgeon 591, Defiance Rebel, and a Rem 700.

Re: Surgeon 591 bolt question.

Thanks.
I had a Bighorn on order...... Don't want to wait 8 more
Weeks. So, got a Surgeon 591. Did not know, if it was done
On some, or need done on others. I know...Bighorn come w/
Bushing work done.

Think...... it was a good choice, going from a Bighorn to a Surgeon 591?
Or should I have waited?

Re: Surgeon 591 bolt question.

They used to make a "prebushed" action on a limited basis. Dont see it the website anymore. Might want to ask.
