surgeon action question

I've got a rifle built with a Surgeon XL action with about 250 rounds through it. I've noticed a small groove wore in the back of the reciever where the bolt cams against it. Its not real deep, maybe a couple thousanths or so but its there.
I called Surgeon and they said its normal and not to worry.
But I want to know from other surgeon shooters if this is what they've seen also. Thanks very much for your time!

It's normal, you should be putting a light dab of grease on the cam surface. If you have a completely grease/oil free cam surface that light mark will gall into a mess. That will make the cam operation poor and bolt lift will become gritty and rough.

Mine has never been fired and has it. Glad to hear it's normal...

Normal....and like bohem said, you should ALWAYS use some grease on the back sides of the lugs.....on any bolt gun.
