Does anyone know if it is possible to swap a barrel from one surgeon action to another and have it Headspace correctly? I am looking for a 308 barrel for my surgeon and found a couple good ones used

Unless they have changed, I wouldn’t go into it 100% expecting it to work. Any of the smiths I know won’t shoulder a surgeon without having the action at least once. Unlike a TL3 or Impact.
They do vary ever so slightly. I chamber a lot of barrels for Surgeons and never have had a problem. I'd go for it. It may be off a thousands or two but in the end we fireform and adjust our FL die to match the chamber.
I have swapped barrels from different actions to others and have not had a problem.
